Happy Belated Mother's Day to all of you mothers and mother-figures out there. :) I decided (super last minute) to surprise my Mommy in Cali for Mother's Day. I flew standby on Friday night and rented a car so that I could just show up (I like to see the shock factor). She was super happy, which is all I could ask for. Now...getting back from Cali was another type of situation. That Stand-by Life: Flying standby on Sunday wasn't even an option as the weather in Dallas was atrocious. So I extended my rental car and decided to stay another day. Monday was equally bad....I turned in the car but didn't get onto any flights! I got a hotel room close…
