WEN Cleansing Conditioners for natural hair? UPDATE: Please read my latest post about the recent FDA announcement about the WEN Hair Care products. It's a weeknight, let's sayyyy 1:22am (so maybe the morning of a weekday ), and you fell asleep watching Love & Basketball on TV (again). On the couch you wake up to hear and see an infomercial about the latest celebrity endorsed beauty or hair products....and strangely find yourself intrigued. That was me one night when the WEN Hair Care creator Chaz Dean was on my TV screen talking about a no suds product that cleanses, conditions, deep conditions and more! Yeah right! Right?! It wasn't until I attended BeautyCon Dallas this year that I got a chance to try it. Read on to find out how I got…

STYLE TIME! If you've followed my blog since the beginning, you know I'm a fan of style. I love exploring my own personal style and trying out new trends as well. In July, when it was a few degrees cooler I put these outfits together. These 100 degree PLUS days in Dallas, however, have me contemplating walking around looking like a THOT. Honestly. Truly. Nonetheless, whether it be a cool summer day, a day at work or a chic pool party I've got some ideas for you to draw inspiration from. Bonus? A video OOTD video at the end of this post. YAY! How to Fix Broken Powder Make Up

How to Fix Broken Powder Make Up

Beauty, The KG Theory, Wellness
Have you ever dropped a compact powder? A blush? A highlighter? I have. I am a self-proclaimed clumsicle (yes, that's a made up word) "multi-tasking" woman. I'm ALWAYS doing two or more things. Laundry and cooking. Cooking and editing. Editing and Cleaning. Cleaning and Uploading. Talking on the phone and EVERYTHING else. LOL! I can admit that I should sit my butt down and slow down some times, but for now I'm still doing a million things at once. This type of behavior can be unpredictable...and can cause some "whoopsies". In the past I've dropped several powder compacts and threw them away! Yes....thinking all was lost. Shamefully I admit that I used to just keep it. That's right, close the compact carefully, place it carefully at the bottom of my make-up…

Are You Really Saved, Single & Secure? – A Look Back

Are You Really Saved, Single & Secure? – A Look Back

Faith, The KG Theory
In January of this year I was asked by my friend Ashley Brown to talk about my lifestyle and how I feel as though I'm single, saved and secure. As I'm in the middle of some serious spirit work I'm just now reflecting on the interview and really astounded on how much WORK I still needed and still NEED to do. Not to say I thought I was completely good or perfect, but I definitely have a different perspective on my state of mind. If I didn't have a different perspective I would be worried. We should always be evolving and coming to new understandings of how we are called to live and love. Before I go into the things I've gained new perspective on, take a look at the interview... Personalize Your Presents! | Hacking Gift Sets from Target

Beauty, Lifestyle, The KG Theory, Wellness
This post is promoted by Target! YAY!  What to do? What to give? Feeling overwhelmed? I’ve got some great gift ideas for you that are designed to impress this season. With several great gift sets from Target, I created three gifts for my three best friends! Yeah…some can’t say they have more than one best friend, so I’m feeling pretty blessed! The challenge, however, is finding that one perfect gift for each of them. So, this year, I hacked the gift sets, took them apart and created three unique gifts for each of my friends. It’s so much easier to create your own gift that is specifically made and organized for your friends and family. People are like little melting pots of preferences; we all have layers and different interests!…

From Heat-Damage to Healthy Curls | Dove

Beauty, Hair, Hair Care Article, Hair Care Products, Wellness
This post is promoted by Dove Hair “YAYYYY!!!! No more relaxers for me!” That’s what I said when I proudly declined a touch up from a box perm my mother was fixin’ to apply to my head. I was 17 and had absolutely no idea what I was embarking on. A life of no relaxers just meant I would wash and blow dry like always right? Wrong. I was a perpetual straightener. I washed, blow-dried and flat-ironed my hair every single week. Every morning? The flat-iron would be plugged in and ready to glide down my semi-wavy, heat-damaged, half-relaxed strands. Eventually I saw the consistency of my wavy heat-damaged curls (not knowing they were heat-damaged) and didn’t (more…)
